Abstract

This article, published in the Arab Journal of Interventional Radiology, discusses the safety and efficacy of bronchial artery embolization (BAE) for lung lesions with low flow arterio-venous shunting. The study included 55 hemoptysis patients who underwent BAE between 2018 and 2023. The results showed a 100% technical success rate, with a mean follow-up period of 180 days. Three patients experienced rebleeding and required another session of embolization. The study concludes that BAE with large particles is safe and effective for lesions with low flow bronchopulmonary shunts, with a high success rate and no major complications.
