Abstract

This article, published in the Arab Journal of Interventional Radiology, discusses the use of a percutaneous sutured-mediated closure device called Perclose Pro Glide to manage iatrogenic carotid injury during central catheter insertion. The case presentation describes a 76-year-old male who experienced accidental carotid catheterization during the procedure. The authors utilized two percutaneous closure devices to close the carotid-jugular fistula, resulting in complete resolution of the fistula. The patient did not experience any immediate complications, and subsequent imaging showed excellent blood flow to the brain. The article highlights the effectiveness and safety of percutaneous arterial closure devices in treating injured vessels. [Extracted from the article]
