Abstract

This article, published in the Arab Journal of Interventional Radiology, presents a systematic review and meta-analysis on the need for left subclavian artery revascularization in thoracic endovascular aortic repair. The study found that revascularization was associated with reduced risks of stroke, spinal cord ischemia, and arm ischemia. However, there was no significant reduction in paraplegia or mortality. The risk of endoleak was comparable in both groups, but the risk of reintervention was higher in the revascularization group. The study provides important indications for revascularization and predictors of complications, which can inform clinical decision-making and future research. [Extracted from the article]
