Abstract

Scale AI, a data processing company, has reportedly cut off access to its platform for gig workers in Nigeria, Kenya, and Pakistan, leaving them without income. The workers, who improve data quality for Scale's AI tools, were greeted with a message stating that services were unavailable in their location. Scale released a statement in September emphasizing its commitment to fair compensation for gig workers. The company has not commented on the report, which also mentioned that new signups for gig work were blocked in other countries. [Extracted from the article]
