Abstract

Additive technology (AM) using selective laser melting (SLM) is widely used to produce parts with complex shapes made of metal alloys, composites and ceramics. One of the main problems of SLM is ensuring dimensional accuracy. The paper presents the study of the influence of selected parameters of the SLM process, such as laser power, scanning speed, distance between tracks, powder layer thickness and volumetric energy density on the dimensional accuracy of the product. The mathematical model was obtained based on a dimensional analysis describing the dependence of the SLM process parameters on the dimensional deviations of the product. Computer simulation of the SLM process was carried out using COMSOL Multiphysics® software. Theoretical results were verified experimentally on Cr-Co alloys. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
