Abstract

The paper presents the results of research on the processes of electrochemical dressing and hybrid profiling of grinding wheels made of superhard abrasives bonded with a metal binder. The process of electrochemical dressing of grinding wheels is carried out by anodic dissolution of the metal binder, with the participation of alternating current and special kind of electrolytes. The process of profiling the grinding wheels was carried out with a hybrid system of electrochemical and electroerosive dressing using an innovative segment tool electrode. The article contains a description of research stands for the implementation of these processes, theoretical analysis and the results of modeling and experimental research. The elaborated mathematical relationships between the technological parameters of these grinding wheel dressing and profiling processes and the thickness of the removed abrasive layer, the state of the macro-and microgeometry of the cutting surface of the grinding wheel (CSGW) and the wear of the tools electrodes are given. In conclusion, conclusions of cognitive and utilitarian significance were formulated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
