Abstract: The article focuses on the reliance of Elon Musk, chief executive officer of automotive company Tesla, on the Chinese market and supply chain that drew criticisms from U.S. lawmakers. It shows the pro-China stance of Musk and informs about the emissions policy adopted by China in 2017 following its promotion by a Tesla lobby group. It reports the construction of a Tesla factory in Shanghai, China as well as the company's creation of a market for Chinese suppliers.
