The focal interest in this paper revolves around investigating the metadiscourse of memory in the experience of the Tunisian novelist and critic Mohamed Bardi. This line of inquiry has been motivated by the ingenuity and attractiveness of 'memory talk' within this experience. It is a talk that is plotted in a narrative text replete with aesthetic overtones. It is equally corroborated by a critical perspective that is never devoid of originality and exquisiteness. This paper is built around five research axes ranging from the investigation of memory and ideology, memory and existence, memory and writing, memory and forgetting culminating into probing the relationship between memory, imagination and fiction.
