Abstract

This article discusses the case of a neonate with transient neonatal diabetes mellitus (TNDM) who was successfully treated with the Medtronic MiniMedâ„¢ 780G system. TNDM is a rare disease that occurs within the first 6 months of life and can be classified as transient or permanent. The patient in this case had a defect in the 6q24 region and was initially treated with intravenous insulin infusion before transitioning to the MiniMed 780G system. The system allowed for good glucose control and prevented hypoglycemic events. The article highlights the benefits of insulin pump therapy for neonates with diabetes and emphasizes the importance of genetic testing for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
