Abstract

Aim: The aim of this study was to develop and test the flexural strength of a novel morus alba fiber and montmorillonite nano clay particle filler, reinforced hybrid epoxy composite fabricated by hand layup method. Materials and Methods: Bi-directional woven morus alba material as support with epoxy resin (LY556) and hardener (HY951) as a framework, expansion of 0 wt%, 2 wt%, 4 wt% montmorillonite nano clay particles. Composite material fabricated by the hand layup technique. Flexural tests were tried according to ASTM guidelines by the Universal Testing Machine. The research was divided into two groups (control group and experimental groups), in each group 20 samples. Results: Addition of filler particles helped in novel bi-directional morus alba, expanding the heap conveying capacity of the composites, which expanded the rigidity. Flexural test programming SPSS was utilized to perform ANOVA examination 0 wt%, 2 wt%, 4 wt% filler. From the ANOVA analysis a significant difference of 0.00 (p<0.05) between filled and unfilled composite was found. Conclusion: The expansion of 4 wt% montmorillonite nano clay filler improved flexural strength of morus alba by 52% contrasted with unadulterated epoxy matrix. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
