This article aims at focusing on the survival of a classic such as Posthumous memoirs of Bras Cubas from the turn of the 19th century (1881) to contemporaneity through an operation of intermediality between the printed book and the digital medium, with the hypertextual form as a mediating element, in latency in the book. The creation of an interface on a website accounts for the expansion of the book to new domains, now having associative hyperlink flows and interactivity as decisive factors for the survival of the novel.
