Abstract
- This document discusses a new method for preparing thin sections of bones for histomorphological study. The method addresses issues with the conventional method, such as post-mortem stains and birefringence of the epoxy resin. It provides detailed protocols for sample preparation, removal of pigment and epoxy resin, and evaluation of section quality. The authors recommend using (poly-) methyl methacrylate instead of epoxy resin for embedding fragile bones. The document also includes a list of references that cover various topics in bone histology and paleontology, which may be useful for researchers in these fields. [Extracted from the article]
