Abstract

Cities are an important carrier of high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin, and enhancing urban economic and ecological resilience has become an important aspect of urban high-quality development. In order to provide reference for the comprehensive implementation of the major national strategy of ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin, 67 prefecture level cities along the Yellow River were selected as research objects. Based on the analysis of the coupling mechanism between economic resilience and ecological resilience of cities in the Yellow River Basin in 2010, 2015 and 2020, the WSR methodology was used to build an evaluation index system for economic resilience and ecological resilience of cities in the Yellow River Basin. The coupling coordination degree model was used to analyze the evolution trend of the coupling coordination between the two, and geographic detectors were used to analyze the main influencing factors of the coupling coordination degree. The results show that a) the coupling coordination of urban economic resilience and ecological resilience in the Yellow River Basin is increased first and then decreased overall from 2010 to 2020, but the change is not significant. In space, it shows a trend of downstream being higher than midstream and midstream being higher than upstream. b) The overall coordination degree between economic resilience and ecological resilience in cities in the Yellow River Basin is relatively lower. The number of cities clustered according to good coordination, forced coordination, mild imbalance and severe imbalance among 67 cities is 4, 7, 41 and 15 respectively. c) The main influencing factors of the coupling coordination between urban economic resilience and ecological resilience in the Yellow River Basin vary in different periods. Except for the urban registered unemployment, patent authorization and green space area in the economic resilience indicator, which have always been the main influencing factors, GDP is the main influencing factor in the early stage and then the non main influencing factor. The greening rate of built-up areas, industrial wastewater discharge and the ecological resilience indicators such as industrial SO, emissions are not the main influencing factors in the early stage and then become the main influencing factors. Overall, the influence of economic resilience indicators has weakened, while the influence of ecological resilience indicators has increased from weak to strong. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
