Abstract
- This research examines the effects of fuzzy control methods and proportional-integral-derivative (PID) on the performance of Permanent Magnet Direct Current (PMDC) motors. It is possible to get a general idea of each controller's efficiency by comparing the two of them. According to the study of the literature, many researchers used traditional (PID) controllers to regulate the speed of (PMDC) motors. It is challenging to manage the parameter values in a conventional PID controller and obtain excellent, suitable characteristics. However, there are some drawbacks to the PID controller, including a high beginning overshoot, susceptibility to controller gains, and a slow reaction to unexpected disturbances. To surmount the drawbacks of the traditional PID controller, a reasonably designed PID controller with a computational optimization approach technique is suggested. Additionally, fuzzy logic-based controllers, specifically fuzzy control, are suggested in this research, and their effectiveness is compared with that of PID controllers. Results from all operators' simulations are shown and examined. When controlling the speed of (PMDC) motors, it is found that fuzzy controllers perform better than other controllers. Using MATLAB modeling, we concluded that the suggested controller would result in a faster settling time, as well as a reduced overshoot and steady-state error. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
