Abstract
- The text is a review of the book "Hellenistic Elegies" by Rafael J. Gallé Cejudo, which is an edition and translation into Spanish of fragments of Hellenistic elegiac poetry. The work compiles a wide range of authors and texts that were previously read separately, but it does not include astronomical or exact science fragments, nor the elegiac verses of Callimachus. The book is an important contribution to Hellenistic studies and a unique tool of its kind, presenting a critical edition of the elegiac fragments of various Hellenistic poets, including lesser-known authors. The third part of the book compiles anonymous fragmentary texts of an elegiac nature from the Hellenistic period, highlighting the importance of collecting these fragments in a critical edition with introductions and notes that clarify their complex meanings and contexts.
