This article focuses on the exile following the October 1934 events in the department of Maine-et-Loire, specifically in its capital, Angers, and the nearby town of Trélazé. Utilizing French primary sources - both departmental and local - and the limited existing bibliography, it sheds light on the political refugees, their challenges, and their survival strategies in exile with the support of leftist organizations and the Spanish immigrant community.
