Abstract

Seeds of the Bulat variety (traditional morphotype) and of BL 12-11-02-2-4-1ep (epigonal morphotype) were irradiated with the equipment GUR-12 0(60Со) to develop mutant lines of yellow lupine. The irradiation dose/energy was the following: 200 Gy (60 Gy/h); 300 Gy (60 Gy/h); 400 Gy (60 Gy/h); 200 Gy (100 Gy/h); 300 Gy (100 Gy/h); 400 Gy (100 Gy/h); 300 Gy (150 Gy/h); and 400 Gy (150 Gy/h). Statistically significant differences for the length of the main root and hypocotyl for each variant compared to the standard one were revealed in the laboratory tests. Significant differences were also revealed between variants with different energies at the irradiant dose of 200 Gy; at the doses of 300 and 400 Gy, the differences are smoothed out. The LD50 for yellow lupine was 400 Gy at the energy of 60 and 100 Gy/h. In a field experiment, the effect of pre-sowing irradiation of seeds on seed viability, on elements of plant productivity in generations M1 and M2, and on the biochemical characteristics of their seeds is revealed. The specificity of varieties in response to irradiation of seeds was revealed too. It means an increase in adaptability of the ultra-mature breeding line 12-11-02-2-4-1ep. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
