Abstract
- This article discusses the repair of a lateral eyebrow defect in a 64-year-old woman who had a basal cell carcinoma. The goal of the reconstruction was to maintain a symmetrical shape and hair pattern relative to the contralateral brow. The authors describe a technique called a banner transposition flap, which used a superolateral tissue reservoir to restore the eyebrow. The patient had a successful outcome with minimal complications and was pleased with the results. The article emphasizes the importance of eyebrows for aesthetics, emotion, communication, and identity, and provides insights into the challenges and options for reconstructing lateral eyebrow defects.
