Abstract

The aim of the current review is to conduct a detailed survey from the published papers and indicate the effect of some operating parameters on the performance of gas turbine cycle (outer ambient temperature), and compare between the simple cycle (the open Brighton cycle) and the improved cycle, the effect of the air filtration process entering the compressor, and modelling processes that are specific to the power generation system. Logical sequence has been followed in analyzing the reviewed studies to make the required and accurate comparison. It was found that the high temperature of the incoming air reduces the performance of gas turbine cycle. On the other hand, choosing good types of filtration and performing regular maintenance of the filters can improve the performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
