Abstract
- In a field experiment conducted during the spring season of 2022 in.Abu Al-Jasem village (30 km north of Babylon), the effect of different concentrations of seaweed extract and fertilized nano organic (Optimus plus) on the growth and yield of sepal leaves of two cultivars of Roselle plant was studied. The experiment followed a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replicates and included three factors: cultivars (eggplant and red), concentrations of seaweed extract (0, 4, 8 ml/L), and concentrations of fertilized nano organic (0, 1, 2 ml/L). The results of the experiment are as follows: Cultivar Effect: The eggplant cultivar (V1) outperformed the red cultivar (V2) significantly, showing the highest mean values for the studied traits. These traits included plant height (195.54 cm), number of leaves per plant (587.54 leaves/plant), number of branches per plant (46.15 branches/plant), dry leaves yield per plant (42.84 g/plant), and total yield of Roselle leaves per hectare (1142.39 kg/ha). Fertilized Nano Organic Effect: The concentration (2 ml/L) of fertilized nano organic resulted in the highest values for plant height (202.49 cm), number of leaves per plant (593.27 leaves/plant), number of branches per plant (48.84 branches/plant), dry leaves yield per plant (48.06 g/plant), and total yield of Roselle leaves per hectare (1281.56 kg/ha). Seaweed Extract Effect: The highest averages for the studied traits were obtained at the concentration of 8 ml/L of seaweed extract. Interaction Effects: The interaction between cultivar V1 (eggplant) and concentration P2 (2 ml/L of fertilized nano organic) showed superior results for all the studied traits. Additionally, the combination of V1 (eggplant) and A2 (8 ml/L of seaweed extract), the interaction of P2 (2 ml/L of fertilized nano organic) and A2 (8 ml/L of seaweed extract), and the triple interaction of V1, P2, and A2 resulted in the highest averages for all the studied traits. In conclusion, the eggplant cultivar, higher concentrations of fertilized nano organic, and the use of seaweed extract at 8 ml/L demonstrated positive effects on the growth and yield of sepal leaves in Roselle plants. The interaction between these factors further enhanced the performance of the studied traits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
