Distribution and assessment of heavy metals in Khor Al-Zubair, Basrah, Iraq.

This study deals with the distribution and assessment of heavy metals (Pb,Cd,Cr,As,and Cn) in Khor Al-Zubair district, Basrah province, southern part of Iraq. Seventeenth sites were selected by the researchers starting from the Ras Barah up to the Zubair town in order to take the samples of both water and sediments. The obtained results of the concentration of heavy metals showed no serious pollution and toxity in this area. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
