The Paradoxical Truths of Social Work Practice and Perspectives.

The author offers perspectives on the paradoxical truths of social work practice. It points out the inadequacy of social safety net programs for low-income individuals and families, racial inequities, discriminatory policies and lower investment in public services. It also refers to food insecurity and delayed Supplemental Nutrition Assistant Program benefits as possible consequences of a government shutdown.
