Abstract

2-amino 6-methyl pyridinium adipate adipic acid (2A6MPAA) crystallized with a strong optical third order nonlinearity. This crystal was created using the standard slow evaporation solution growth method. The features of the produced crystals were analyzed using a variety of characterization methods. The structure of the crystal was established using the single crystal X-ray diffraction (SXRD) method. Powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) was used to validate the crystallinity of 2-amino 6-methyl pyridinium adipate adipic acid. The compounds' numerous functional groups were confirmed by the use of FTIR analysis. Adipic acid crystal with 2-amino- 6-methyl pyridinium adipate has a decreased UV cut-off wavelength and a high optical transmittance over the whole visible range, according to studies employing UV–Vis spectrometers. The developed 2A6MPAA crystal's third order susceptibility, nonlinear refraction, and nonlinear absorption coefficient were assessed using the Z-scan technique. Additionally, this publication concentrated on theoretical investigations of a crystal's traditional nucleation dynamics. Vickers microhardness analysis was utilised to conclusively evaluate the mechanical stability of the growing crystal, and the Hays-Kendall technique proved effective in explaining the proportional stability model (PSRM) and the indentation size effect (ISE). For the as-grown 2A6MPAA crystal, the piezoelectric coefficients (d 33) were additionally premediated. [Display omitted] • Slow evaporation solution growth technique was used to grow a novel organic 2A6MPAA crystal. • The grown crystal has a great degree of transparency. • The hardness number rises when the load is increased. • Compared to other organic materials, 2A6MPAA has better relative third-order nonlinearity.
