Abstract

A 66-year-old man developed acute eosinophilic pneumonia while being treated with daptomycin for a streptococcal infection. He had been discharged from the hospital five weeks prior after being treated for the same infection. The man experienced symptoms such as dyspnea, fever, and cough, and sought medical attention multiple times. His condition was confirmed through bronchoalveolar lavage, and he was switched to a different antibiotic and started on prednisone. His symptoms improved rapidly after the change in treatment.
