Abstract
- This article provides construction cost indexes for various cities in the United States, including data on construction costs, building costs, common labor, skilled labor, and materials. The article also includes a table with measurements and prices for different types of pipes, ranging from 4 inches to 60 inches in diameter. The Building Cost Index indicates an annual inflation rate of 3.8% for March 2024, with a monthly increase of 0.2%. The Materials Cost Index shows a monthly increase of 0.4% and an annual escalation rate of 6.2%. Construction starts in the Boston metro area are expected to rise by 6.1% in 2024, with a predicted decrease in non-residential starts and an increase in residential starts. Prices for PVC pipe products, copper water tubing, and ductile-iron pipe have experienced monthly and yearly increases. [Extracted from the article]
