Abstract
- The article focuses on the potential of DNA methylation biomarkers in saliva and oral swabs for diagnosing oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMDs) and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Topics include the efficacy of hypermethylated DNA panels in diagnosing OSCC, the development of DNA methylation panels for distinguishing OSCC/HGD and oral leukoplakia from healthy controls, and the diagnostic and predictive roles of DNA methylation in identifying cancer onset in OPMDs.
