Local Music in Curitiba (Paraná, Brazil) and the Impacts Generated by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

This article is an exploratory study of the local music scene in the city of Curitiba in the state of Paraná, in Brazil, and the impact Covid-19 has had on local musicians. A case study was carried out, in which three participants answered a semi-structured interview on how the dynamics between musicians and concert-goers have changed during the pandemic. The participants were selected using purposeful sampling and a thematic analysis was conducted through data interviews that were transcribed and analysed. It was possible to note how the music scene crosses different spheres of the lives of its participants, how their social lives and connections with the city are related to local music, and how the pandemic directly affected this consumption, mainly from the difficulties arising from transitioning the local experience to the digital world.
