Abstract
- The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced its agreement with the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) conclusion that cannabis has medical benefits. The HHS has released a 252-page review supporting the FDA's recommendation to reschedule cannabis from a Schedule I drug to a Schedule III drug. The final decision on cannabis' reclassification will be made by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) after reviewing research on the plant. The HHS's full review was not initially made public, but now all attention is on the DEA to determine the scheduling of cannabis. [Extracted from the article]
