Abstract

The problem of contact interaction of two identical stringers with an elastic wedge of arbitrary angle of solution, when a system of cracks is located on the bisector of the wedge, is considered under conditions of antiplane deformation. The stringers are symmetrically bisected to the faces of the wedge. Stringers and crack banks are loaded with tangential forces causing antiplane deformation (longitudinal shear) of the wedge. Using the Mellin integral transformation, the solution of the problem is reduced to a system of two singular integral equations (SIE), from which the tangential contact stresses under the stringers and the dislocation densities at the crack banks are determined. The determining system of the SIE is solved by the numerical-analytical method of mechanical quadratures. A numerical analysis was carried out in the case where there is only one crack on the bisector of the wedge. Graphs were constructed illustrating the dependence of the main required quantities on the wedge opening angle and the distance between the wedge tip and the crack. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
