Abstract

Detection of H. pylori in saliva is difficult because of its lower concentration there than in the stomach and the presence in the oral cavity of uncharacterized bacteria similar to H. pylori. Therefore, a detection method of high specificity and sensitivity is required. In this study we report such a method involving Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) that provides direct detection based on the binding of H. pylori to the blood protein Leb. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
