Abstract

Plasma Arc cutting is one of the most under-recognized yet efficient and dependable non-conventional machining operations. It was originally developed for difficult-to-machine materials that proved ineffective or inefficient when it came to the development of intricate shapes and complex patterns using the conventional process. This work presents a thorough analysis of the cutting of various steel alloys specifically using a Plasma Arc by setting a variety of machining parameters such as plasma Arc current, arc voltage, standoff distance, and cutting speed, which are some of the most essential and noticeable features employed in this study. Furthermore, the individual effects and contributions of each input variable on the respective responses, namely Material Removal Rate (MRR) and Surface Roughness, were researched and evaluated using the MINITAB software, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Grey Rational Analysis, and so on. Finally, the most suitable machining conditions were discovered and employed in this study to achieve the required outcomes utilizing a variety of optimization strategies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
