Abstract
- Synthesis and characterization of a new β-octa-substituted zinc phthalocyanine complex from the [ZnPc(CO2H)8] complex are reported in this work. Compound of general formula C64H36N12O12S4Zn with good purity is obtained and confirmed by elemental analysis. The vibrational spectrometry spectra (IR and Raman) attest not only the characteristic vibration bands of phthalocyanines, but also those of functional groups located at the complex periphery. In X-ray photoelectron spectrometry (XPS), the values of the binding energies prove the presence of the sulfur of R-SH groups; which confirms the presence of the S-H bond in the reaction compound. Solid-state 13C Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (13C NMR) makes possible establishment of a good correlation between the various carbons and the proposed structure. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
