Abstract
- Researchers at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore have developed smart clothes embedded with computers and sensors. They used flexible conductive fiber made of silicon or germanium, which was woven with cotton to create clothing that contains electronic sensors and chips. One example is a hat that can sense when traffic lights change color and transmit this information to an app. The fiber has been tested and proven to work for six months of regular wear, washing, and drying.
