Abstract

Varying sectoral angle wideband designs of slot cut sectoral microstrip antenna are proposed. Amongst all, slot cut 120° sectoral patch yields maximum bandwidth of 924 MHz (61.44%) with broadside pattern and peak gain of 8.1 dBi. Against equivalent circular and 90° sectoral patch, the proposed design gives 20% and 10% increase in the bandwidth, respectively. Design methodology to realise similar antenna as per the specific frequency is presented that yields similar response. Simulated results have been experimentally verified, which show close agreement.
