Abstract

The university is a space of concurrence, encounter and recreation of diverse cultures; expression of the cultural diversity of society and of the dissimilar contexts from which the groups that act there come from. The research valued the importance of intercultural education and its strategies to promote the rescue of cultural identity in the field of education and its direct correlation with the language center of the Technical University of Cotopaxi. Within the descriptive and explanatory term, it was determined through analysis, observation and description of the variables, the need to promote the practice of national culture in students, through the implementation of educational strategies in the curriculum, the main objective of the research. The statistical data that nourish this study come from the results obtained through the application of surveys conducted with students and interviews with teachers. The subjects revealed the lack of knowledge about interculturality and cultural identity in the university community, and also communicated their interest in learning about the subject. The proposal seeks to commit teachers to implement strategies in their classes through the dissemination of Ecuadorian culture in their educational activities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
