Abstract

The improvement of literacy skills in fifth and sixth grade students is essential for their academic and personal development. With the objective of designing an effective methodological guide, a study was carried out in the School of General Basic Education Victor Hugo Herrera Mena. The sample of 20 students underwent action research, using surveys, interviews and classroom observations as data collection instruments. The methods implemented included approaches such as shared reading, reading clubs and creative writing projects. Results revealed significant improvement in student motivation and participation, especially in creative writing activities. Despite progress, challenges in reading speed were identified, pointing to areas for continued improvement. Teacher satisfaction highlighted the positive impact of the methodological guide. This study highlights the importance of adaptive and student-centered approaches to strengthening literacy skills, underscoring the need for personalized and sustainable educational interventions.
