Abstract
- This article, published in the Journal of Neurological Surgery, explores the role of transcranial motor evoked potentials (t-MEPs) in the surgical resection of skull base meningiomas. The study examines whether t-MEPs monitoring affects postoperative motor function and identifies specific tumor features that may predict intraoperative t-MEPs alteration and postoperative motor deficits. The results show that using t-MEPs monitoring can help reduce the frequency of new-onset postoperative paresis in skull base meningioma surgery, particularly for high-risk locations. The study provides valuable insights for neurosurgeons performing these surgeries. [Extracted from the article]
