Análisis del impacto económico del Festival Buenos Aires Tango 2019, Argentina.

This paper aims to estimate the economic impact of the Buenos Aires Tango Festival 2019, Argentina. For this, the effects method is used, which includes direct, indirect and induced effects. In addition, some indicators are proposed and calculated to account for the relative impact of the event. The data was collected through an own survey carried out in person. The results show that the 2019 edition left nearly USD 680 million in the city's recreational and commercial circuit, equivalent to 0.6% of the annual production of the City of Buenos Aires. In addition, more than USD 100 million constituted a genuine foreign exchange income for the country. It is concluded, then, that the event generated a strongly positive economic impact in 2019.
