Abstract

Different electrochemical techniques, such as electrochemical "impedance spectroscopy (EIS), electrochemical frequency modulation (EFM), and potentiodynamic polarization (PDP), and mass reduction at various temeratures were used to evaluate the inhibitory potential of Terfeziaceae extract as a corrosion inhibitor for Cu in HNO3 corrosive arrangements. The adsorption was analyzed utilizing Temkin adsorption isotherm, and the adsorption factors were considered. The detections illustrated that the Terfeziaceae extract shown maximum inhibition capacity (% IE) reached to 98.1% at concentration of 300 ppm, 25°C. "x‐ray electron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) surface study techniques have all supported the existence of a protective layer on the Cu surface. This extract operates as a mixed‐type inhibitor, according to PDP data." The current research presents highly significant findings in the preparation and design of original, environmentally friendly, sustainable inhibitors with high inhibitory power.
