Abstract

The study of ciprofloxacin (CIP) electrochemical sensor on AuNPs modified on boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrode is reported. CIP is type of fluoroquinolone antibiotic that widely used to treat gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. In this work, an average size of chemically generated AuNPs (271.8 nm) was drop-cased on the surface of BDD electrode to fabricate AuNPs modified BDD electrode for CIP sensor. BDD electrode was used as a support due to its excellent properties such as wide potential window and low background current, in which, this property is important to get high sensitivity of a sensor. An oxidation peak of CIP was detected at 1.16 V vs Ag/AgCl, further used as potential to detect CIP. The result show low limit of detection of 0.19 µM. Analysis in real sample shows a good recovery of 86.98%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
