Abstract

This article discusses the case of three children with severe idiopathic uveitis, a type of eye inflammation, who did not exhibit any evidence of arthritis. The patients were initially treated with topical and systemic corticosteroids, but their ocular inflammation was not adequately controlled. They were then successfully treated with tumor necrosis factor-α inhibitors. The article emphasizes the severity of pediatric uveitis and the need for prompt involvement of ophthalmologists to improve visual outcomes. The authors also discuss the potential role of autoimmune dysregulation in the pathogenesis of the disease. [Extracted from the article]
