Abstract

This paper explores ZigBee wireless sensor network's concept, vulnerabilities, and detection systems. The internet of things (iots) has increased the need for more secure wireless sensor network systems such as ZigBee, to connect multiple smart devices. Smart grid is one of the latest systems that can be integrated with ZigBee to improve the system and operability of ZigBee as an effective home sensor system. There is associated potential risks and threats along with vulnerabilities in the system. Therefore, the application of intrusion detection systems (ids) has been proven to be effective in detecting and managing anomalies detected in cyber-attack that often occurs through malicious codes and injections, especially in wireless networks due to more vulnerabilities. A framework was proposed with all the systems to create a safe and secure wireless sensor home network. Future research is required to analyze the implementation of sensor networks along with smart grid and ids applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
