Abstract

Soil curing agents PAAB and PAAH were prepared from butyl acrylate (BA), acrylic acid (AA) and styrene (st) as main monomers by grafting humic acid (HA). Their structures were characterized and their application properties were tested. The results show that: (1) the synthesized emulsion is stable and the particle size distribution is uniform; (2) The solidified soil/water contact Angle, the stability of aggregates in still water, and the erosion resistance have significantly enhanced effects; (3) With the increasing of curing age and curing agent content, the unconfined compressive strength of solidified soil samples showed a trend of gradual increase. The unconfined compressive strength can be increased by adding lime and cement properly. Adding soil curing agent PAAH can significantly improve the water and pressure resistance of soil samples, and has broad application prospects in the field of subgrade construction.
