Abstract

The Homeless Population finds several barriers to accessing health services, as result, in large part, of prejudices about their ways of being in life, increasing their vulnerability and social exclusion. Objective: To analyze the health trajectory of a group of homeless people based on the concepts of access and barrier. Method: Qualitative descriptive study using semi-structured interviews and Bardin's content analysis. Results and discussion: Three analytical categories emerged from the study: i) access to the Health Care Network; ii) barriers to health production; iii) possibilities discovered in the territory - Rede Viva. The services most accessed by the Homeless Population are emergency services or those specific to this population. Barriers to health services and production of life appear in several speeches, revealing prejudice, negligence, violent experiences in institutions and situations where access was denied or made difficult. Living networks show themselves as potentialities in the territory to assist in their basic needs. Final considerations: The implementation of specific public policies for PSR and the reorganization of health services are conditions for offering life-producing care that takes into account the particularities of this population.
