Abstract
- The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case of Richard Glossip, a death-row inmate in Oklahoma who claims innocence. Glossip was convicted of a 1997 murder-for-hire, but his case has been marred by prosecutorial misconduct and other serious errors. This case is unusual because Oklahoma's Republican attorney general has joined Glossip in asking the Supreme Court to overturn the conviction, fearing that executing a prisoner on such shaky grounds could undermine confidence in capital punishment. Glossip's defense team is hopeful that the Supreme Court will grant him a fair trial. [Extracted from the article]
