Abstract: The article focuses on the Soviet Tupolev Tu-160, known as the Blackjack in the West, as a strategic intercontinental bomber developed in response to the American B-1 Lancer and the hypersonic XB-70 Valkyrie. Topics include the design and capabilities of the Tu-160, a comparison with the B-1, and the aircraft's limited operational use, including its role in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
