Analysis of statistical literacy ability of high school students in statistics material in terms of mathematical communication skills.

Statistical literacy ability is one of the abilities that students need to have. One of the efforts to build numeracy literacy skills is by mastering mathematics in statistical material. This research article describes statistical literacy skills in terms of mathematical communication skills. The type of this research was qualitative research. The subject of this study is a student of SMA Negeri 1 Gemolong for the 2022/2023 academic year. The selected students consisted of 3 students, with details of one student in each category. This research instrument includes statistical literacy test questions, mathematical communication skills tests, and interviews. Data validity used time triangulation with the interview method. Data analyses were done through data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion. Based on the findings, subjects with high communication skills will efficiently work on problems understanding data, interpreting data, and communicating statistical literacy data. The subjects with medium mathematical communication skills are already understanding and analyzing data correctly, but there are still those who are not correct in sharing data meanwhile, subjects with low mathematical communication skills are still unable to understand, interpret, and communicate, so there are still many mistakes in answering statistical literacy questions.
