Lactobacillus reuteri belongs to the lactic acid bacteria and is one of the main species of Lactobacillus in the human and animal gastrointestinal tract. This paper reviews the active metabolites of Lactobacillus reuteri, including their cultures, metabolites, inactive strains, and cell-free supernatants in different media, systematically analyzes the application of active metabolites of Lactobacillus reuteri from three aspects: probiotics, pharmaceutical applications, and food preservation, so as to provide reference for the potential application research of active substances derived from Lactobacillus reuteri.
