Abstract
- This research aims to analyze the meaning of the reasons for staying at work in a Public Education Institution (IPE). Regarding elaboration, the theoretical framework was first used based on contributions that deal with the theme: what are work, objective, and subjective work links? Data collection was carried out using an electronic form that was based on content analysis and the interpretative paradigm, in line with the statements made by the study participants and, at the same time, assisted by the theoretical basis. The results expose the justifications for continuing the work activity, where the statements were categorized into environmental, personal, social, financial, and self-realization benefits. In this way, it was possible to diagnose that the links between work and the institution go beyond the merely objective character, where individuals, from a holistic perspective, highlight subjective factors such as recognition, achievement, usefulness, and belonging as reasons-causes for staying in the organization, the object of the present study, thus highlighting relationships between the work context and the variables presented from the employees' experiences.
