Abstract

In this study, experimental and numerical analysis studies of a submersible pump performance were carried out. First of all, the performance tests were carried out with a four-stage pump with the most efficient operating point of 140 m³/h in the test setup in the company. Then, numerical studies were made for the four-stage model of the same pump with Computational Fluid Dynamics. In the study, the head and efficiency values of the pump were calculated for different flow rates. In addition, the velocity and pressure changes in the pump section are presented visually for the numerical analysis results. As a result, at 140 m³/h flow rate, which is the optimum operating point of the submersible pump, the difference between the experimental and numerical results is about 3.15% in head, while it is around 9% in efficiency. The results brought to the literature are of the quality to be used for validation in commercial and academic studies due to the similarity of efficiency and head curves. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
